Easy Cranberry Crisp {no gluten, dairy, nuts, eggs or refined sugar}

cranberry crisp

I am so excited to share this recipe!  I grew up eating a dessert my aunt made called Cranberry Crunch.  It’s always been my favorite dessert.  In fact, I love it so much I always have it on my birthday instead of a cake.  I don’t like overly sweet treats, so the tartness of the cranberries is just perfect.  We also always served it on Thanksgiving.  So, this year I decided to revamp the recipe so we could enjoy it {Read More}

Peach Amaretto Sauce & Homemade Ice Cream

Peach Amaretto Sauce

You know that load of peaches I mentioned getting last week?  I had very good intentions of eating a few, then freezing and canning the rest. Yeah.  I didn’t happen.  We ate them all!  It’s a good thing we have 15 more pounds coming again this week!  I noticed that the last few were starting to look a little sad and needed to be rescued.  So, naturally I turned them into a dessert. What screams summer is here like peaches {Read More}

Coconut Flour Peach Cobbler {Gluten-free}

Each week I get a delivery of produce from our local CSA.  It is all organic, and gorgeous, and delicious.  I look forward to Wednesdays to see what I’m going to find in my box.  This week I added 30 pounds of peaches to my order.  I’ve had two giant boxes of peaches on my counter for two days.  Waiting for the peaches to ripen has been hard for me- I’m impatient!  Today they were perfect, so I spent the {Read More}

Lychee Mango Popsicles

Are you wondering what a lychee is?  Let me tell you!  It is a tropical Asian fruit that looks like a leathery strawberry on the outside, but has the texture of a grape on the inside and one big seed in the middle.  They are mildly flavored and juicy and fab. The first time I ever heard of a lychee was a couple of years ago on an episode of Aarti Party.  Do you know Aarti?  She was the Season {Read More}

Frozen Applesauce Cups

As summer break is creeping up on us, and the weather is getting warmer (hotter!), I thought I’d share one of our favorite summer treats: Frozen Applesauce Cups In place of a popsicle or ice cream, my boys love to grab a spoon and dig into this frozen snack.  It reminds me of the Italian Ice cups I’ve enjoyed many times, but without any sugar or corn syrup.   We like Mott’s Healthy Harvest- there are several apple + fruit {Read More}

Banana Avocado Ice Cream

Sometimes a little boy just needs ice cream for lunch.  He skinned his knee, or had a rough day at Montessori School or just because.   And sometimes a mama just wants to say yes instead of no.  She wants to create memories of a fun childhood.  So she whips up a batch of homemade ice cream that she can feel good about. There’s nothing quite like the face of a sweet little boy, blue eyes sparkling, on tip-toes trying {Read More}

Fruit Tacos

Happy Cinco de Mayo! My little people and I celebrated today by whipping up some these delicious and easy fruit tacos. In a small skillet, pan fry a blue corn tortilla in coconut oil over medium heat until slightly crispy.  Shmear with a spoonful of your favorite cocoa spread (Nutella would work, but I prefer Trader Joe’s Cocoa Almond Spread).  Top with chunks of fresh fruit (I used mango, pineapple and strawberries).  Sprinkle with a little raw sugar and dust {Read More}
